Finding a book to start with to get attached to reading? As a person who wasn’t really attached to books or novels, I, myself, found it hard to get into reading, especially when I didn’t know where to start, and what book to read first.
The plot itself had me falling in love at first sight; David Levithan’s book, Every Day, a New York Times bestseller, is not your ordinary romance novel; it had the twist of fantasy.

The ‘no one’ who fell in love was literally a no one—a soul without body, one that took over a person’s body on one day, and moved on to another for the next. No definite sexuality, our protagonist’s name is A. Upon transferring to a boy’s body with the name of Justin, A found himself falling for Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon, and even as he switched bodies, A was never able to shake off the urge of having to see her again.
The novel shared with the readers the troublesome yet thrilling journeys and challenges that A had to face, the dilemma Rhiannon went through in believing such an almost impossible phenomenon—almost, and the way their feelings and relationship bloomed even under the worst circumstances, that had the readers’ hearts clenched in anticipation.
For the new readers who are looking for a spice to their usual cliché romance novels, Every Day was definitely eye and heart-catching, and it still has me in love with its plot even after I have read many romance novels. The book is also available in the school library and is up for borrowing. It also has a film adaptation which was released in 2018!
