August 30, 2019 – The Divinians celebrated ‘Linggo ng Wika’, an event held annually during the month of August to remind the student body about the beauty of our language and culture, through different activities such as performing cultural dances and by wearing our country’s traditional clothing (Kasuotang Pinoy). Many men were dashing in their Barong Tagalog’s, as well as our ladies in their Baro’t Saya’s, but of course there were some who gave life to certain tribes by wearing traditional tribal clothing, namely Mandaya, Bagobo, Ifugao, Aetas, and many more.
At noon, a program was held in the Senior High School Gymnasium to celebrate the ‘Linggo ng Wika’ program which was made possible by the hard work of our teachers, Sir Karl Dan Merck De Guzman, Sir Erbert Draculan, Ms. Angel De Vera, and the school staff with the participation of the senior high school students.
We’ve had cultural dances presented to us by the students of Kepler, Original Filipino Music (OPM) danced to us by the students of Hawking-Halley, and a song number performed to us by our talented singers, Stephen Blas and Lesley Misha De Torres; although the highlight of the program is the pageant in search for this year’s Ginoong Wika and Binibining Wika.
The competition was heated and people were highly anticipating who will take home the title, but alas, there can only be one victor, our Ginoong Wika 2019 is Reynell Joseph Raymundo, and as for our Binibining Wika 2019, is Joanna Marielle Olaes, both from 12-Ptolemy Stem-A.
